Are you looking to create a super-cool custom wristband? Something more involved than what’s possible in our online designer? Well, you’ve come to the right place. This post will highlight the process of designing your wristband offline using one of our templates. We’d love for you to eventually produce this wristband with us, but hey… It’s a free country. Do with this information what you will!
Where can I find these wristband templates?
Above is an example of our 3/4″ Wide Wristband template. You can find and download all of our wristband templates here.
What program should I use to design my wristband?
Our wristbands are all printed using vector format files. These file types end in the following extensions: .ai, .svg, .eps, .ps or (sometimes) .pdf. As such, the program we recommend for use in designing your wristband is Adobe Illustrator. All files produced in AI can be exported as vectors.
If you don’t have access to Illustrator, you can also use a program called Adobe Photoshop. This is less than ideal from a production standpoint, as the resulting artwork will not be in vector format. But don’t worry – We wouldn’t let a little thing like formatting keep you from the wristband of your dreams. We’ll convert your art into vector format for print once you confirm your order.
Choose a color for your wristband.
We use the Pantone+ Solid Coated Color Book for matching our colors. These colors are available in Illustrator and Photoshop. You can use these colors or choose your own color. If you do the latter, we’ll match it to the closest Pantone color prior to production. For the sake of this example, we’re going to use Pantone 1795 c. It’s a bright red color.
Add your artwork to the template.
Add your artwork to our template. In this case, we’re adding promotional art for the upcoming 3rd Annual Puppy Movie Party. Now, there hasn’t been a first or second of these parties. And the third is completely fictional. But for the sake of the example, this wristband is the ticket into the event.
Save your artwork as a vector file.
This step is only possible if you’re using Adobe Illustrator or another vector producing program. In illustrator, it’s important you save the file in one of the following formats: .ai, .svg, or .pdf. Do not save the file as a .png or .jpg. The resulting files from these two types may look correct, but they are not proper files for print.
Send your file to the wristband company of your choice.
Now, we’re hoping you’ll send this art file to us for production. But you certainly don’t have to. You can send the wristbands designed on our templates anywhere you’d like. It’s your wristband, after all!
If you WOULD like to send the design our way, email us here: team@blog2.wristbandbros.com. Thanks!
